CS 101: Intro to Computers
Course Objectives: When the course is completed you will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge of computer terminology.
- express a general knowledge of computer operating systems.
- express a general knowledge of windows-based operating systems.
- demonstrate knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- express a general knowledge of Cloud Storage.
- manage electronic communication.
- create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.
- create, navigate, and manage Microsoft Excel.
There is no formal textbook. All materials/information will be provided for completing this course.
Incomplete Policy: Students will not be given an incomplete grade in the course without sound reason and documented evidence as described in the Student Handbook. In any case, for a student to receive an incomplete, he or she must be passing the course.
Missed Classes: As an active member of the class, your attendance is vital. You are responsible for obtaining material distributed on class days due to an absence.
Missed Tests/Quizzes: Tests to be given periodically throughout the quarter will be announced. (The instructor reserves the right to quiz announced and unannounced on lectured material; unannounced quiz cannot be made up.) Each quiz/test is taken only one time. Students will be permitted to make up one missed test. If more than one test is missed, a zero will be recorded for any additional tests not taken. The makeup schedule will be announced by the instructor.
Failure to take the final exam will result in a failing grade for the course.
