Student Expectations

To complete this class successfully, you should adhere to the following expectations:

  • You should participate in the course throughout the week, multiple days of the week.  Waiting until the last minute or until the weekend to start the work for the week doesn’t give you the time required to properly digest, process, discuss, and execute the course content. Here is a possible weekly schedule to follow for this course:
    • Monday/Tuesday: Take the Knowledge Check, study the Lecture, take the Lecture Quiz & read any assignment directions.
    • Wednesday/Thursday: post your Initial Post to the discussion & and start assignments
    • Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Work on and submit assignments & reply in the discussion.  Finish the week by taking the Progress Check.
  • You should start on the assignments early. Many of the assignments require engagement over several days to complete.
  • You should reach out to the instructor the moment you have a concern or a question.
  • You should be open-minded.  Communication courses are not fun for a lot of students.  Many of the assignments will challenge you and take you out of your comfort zone.  If you say, “I can’t,” you won’t.  If you say, “I’ll try,” you will.
